why has kotsay been in the lineup so much?

Mark Kotsay is in the lineup again 2day and I am wondering why Tito is putting him in there so much because after the first couple of games w/ us he has stunk. I think he should put Cora at ss and Lowrie at 3rd. Lowell has been taken off the ALDS roster and Gil ............  has taken his place. Thoughts?

Obviously they see something in Velasquez that they don't see in Bailey...not sure what, but then again, I didn't really follow the PawSox much.  Let's see if they stick with him for the ALCS.

As for Kotsay, he didn't perform too badly in the ALDS.  And his flexibility to play RF and 1st puts him in the same category as Bailey, except with more big league experience.  And with Drew being day-to-day, you have to have five outfielders.  I guess they rate him higher than Casey when they put him at first.  They really shouldn't need him in the outfield when they have Coco, Ellsbury & Bay.

But you know, we have to be grateful our fielders didn't choke the way the Halos' did.  Time to get tough for those Rays!  If we can take them, we can handle whatever the NL can throw at us!!

Mark Kotsay has been doin pretty good for the games hes been in, and hes a better hitter against lefties than Casey, also hes looked much sharper defensively for the Sox then Casey was

Hmmm, well did you see his defense last night? The couple of catches that he made, that might not have been made by others, even Youk, were nothing short of amazing. He almost won the game for us last night, If it wasn't for the dynamite grab Teixeira made he would have! With him in the lineup it boosts our defense, he hasn't exactly been hitting the cover off the ball, but the hits he has come up with have been in key critical situations!

Better defensively and with a control pitcher like Lester good defense is a must.  Also, he has hit 300 in the series, nothing to ignore.  Last night proved it.

I think the sun will shine on Kotsay as he gets into the ALCS. Tito's warming everyone up to rotate for this Fall Classic.

    Plus, Kotsay's wife is HOT!

    Thoughts?

Easy for me to say now, nearly 20 hours later.  But, athleticism, .281 lifetime professional hitter, and versatility.  Tito said today the infield will be set based on matchups, etc.  Plus, (knock on wood), he's getting hot.  He played a hell of a game last night, and he is relishing every moment.

    A nice formula for winning.
