    JD DREW/ JASON BAY

i just HAD to post something about these two...jason bay has been great these past two games (a homerun each game--nice!) and as for j.d. drew...back injury? what back injury?..just kidding. seriously though, yesterday was certainly a test to see how his back was holding up. what with the base hits and homerun, and the amount of times the baseball was hit to LF, he was having quite a workout. im just hoping that today he doesnt wake up today really stiff or something...btw, praying that mikey can play next game...but if he cant, well, things worked out the way we had em yesterday..

The way these 2 have played i have no doubt they could switch positions and not even miss a beat anyway. 2 quiet, modest, guys and all they do is beat you.

to tell you the truth I am not suprised about Jason Bay because ever since he came to the sox he has been great.  For a lot of the season there was pressure because the redsox were fighting for a spot in the playoffs and he resonded well.  As for J.D. he looks better than ever which is a good sign down the road.  Hey has anybody noticed that J.D. Drew has stepped it up in the postseason?

soxtober how could you not notice that about J.D. his 2 biggest hits in a Sox uniform have been arguably the 2 bigest hits in the past 2 years. While im not shocked about Bay you have to admit there have been some pretty good players over the years who have flopped in the playoffs and you never know for sure about a player until he's actually there. But i also think that the Sox certainly go out of their way to try and pick players who have the mental toughness to success under any situation which is a testament to their management.

Truthfully, I have been down on Jason Bay as a 2 strike hitter...he has really looked over matched on breaking balls that start out in the strike zone...on the inner half of the plate...and break down and away..almost an automatic strike 3....until the playoffs...now..the pitchers have been setting him up for that pitch..and he makes it disappear..Now..you don't suppose he has been doing the setting up here? I know he got me to believe he was dead meat on that pitch in that situation..until the last two games...now he is sitting on it..waiting for it and really hammering it..Nice work Mr. Bay..BTW has anybody got a count on how many RBI's Manny has on his big home runs..or is he being pitched to in a very meaningless way?  Mr. Bay's hits have all been meaningful...and he runs everything out...........

    Re: JD DREW/ JASON BAY

Liz..the only guy on the Red Sox that was without "class" is now in La-La land....Drew and Bay both seem to give whatever they have when ever they play..that hasn't ever been an issue..with J.D. his health has always been an issue..wherever he plied his trade..he is one of those guys that just seems to breakdown..With Jason Bay..the jury is still out..WHY?..to me, his outfield play has seemed to be a bit tentative at times..more so in fenway..he seems to lay back on short liners and fly balls..preferring to play them on one hop. I would think that is because he hasn't got the hang of the "Monstah" As soon as he realizes that with no outs/0ne out that trying to make a shoestring catch is only a double in Fenway(left field only) if it gets by..then he may become a bit more aggressive. His hard charge on that one hopper to the left field corner last night and that perfect strike to second should boost his confidence and make him take a few more chances  like playing as shallow as Manny did(well almost that shallow!) he has seemed to figured it out at the plate...how opposing pitchers are going to deal with him..an adjustment seems to be in the works.........................Now, if they can just get Big Papi out of that pull everything , I'll be damned and trying to drive everything thru that shift..then we win..let's hope it starts tonight..First Pede doubles to right..then Papi picks up the RBI on a bloop down the left field line  Papi doesn't need Manny to get his stroke back..he just needs to feed on what is being presented as food!
