    Masterson Out Of The ROATION?????????????

Masterson was a big #5 pitcher for the Sox and to suddenly throw him in the bulpen which he has had no expereince. Justin got it done even if he let up 4 runs with the offense from this team it's a win pure and simple.

Bottom Line : Keep Masterson in rotation....

Re: Masterson Out Of The ROATION?????????????

Justin Masterson has no experience in the bullpen?  Nay.

Masterson's numbers as a reliever in Lowell in 2006: 31.2 innings pitched, 0.85 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, 9.38 strikeouts and 0.57 walks per nine innings, zero home runs allowed.

Those numbers aren't just good. They're disgustingly good.

Why not give Masterson a chance to be a major league reliever?  Keeping Buchholz in the minors is a waste of talent -- might as well move him into the big league rotation and give Masterson a shot at a setup role. This move makes perfect sense.

I totally agree masterson has put up some good stats as a starting pitcher, so why not just let him be the go to guy in the 7th or 8th if the starter is in trouble

I partially agree with sox11.  Masterson has been good in the starting rotation I will admit.  However, he is flawless as a reliever.  His stats in the minors were incredible. Therefore, he certaintly has experience in the bullpen.

I agree with A.J Masterson has come a long way in such a short time. He has put up tremendous stats in the bullpen. The RedSox have made the right choice of putting Masterson in the bullpen. He may become an outstanding releiver
